Clumsy Clumsy Day...

It's Monday again! As usual, I always left my home in the morning at around 7.25am, just in time to grab a copy of the Today paper before catching the only train which bounds for Pasir Ris station in the morning. I was on the escalator when the train arrived, so I hurriedly run up the escalator. I tripped and fell then...all thanks to my loose sandals.. It was really embarassing... But the leg was hurting even more. The sharp edges of the escalator step had cut into my leg...Ouch!! I wished there was no one around and I could scream then.... I was only able to examine my wound after I've arrived at my office.. Got a deep cut,saw some blood too... Had sone bruises...haha... Not that bad lar...but still pretty painful, especially when I showered...the water, the soap got into the wound...

What an unlucky day...

A Day To Replenish My Energy...

A Merry Christmas to all my friends!

Just got back from chalet yesterday evening and was feeling so tired that I sleep for 12 hours, til this morning 9+am... So piggy,rite? Haha.. Well, that's me.. Just another normal Sunday, went for tuition then my driving lesson..

Was still having a bit of "hangover" from last 2 days of chalet.. My mood wasn't that fantastic.. Yupz,it hasn't been good since last week, but now it worsen I guess...

I started to wonder how much my friends know me and how much I understand them.. Many of my friends think that I'm a person with no temper, but that's not true. It really depends on whether it has reached my tolerance threshold or not. Things which piss me off include:

1. Being accused of doing something I've never done.

2. People who refuse to admit their mistakes.

Well, I feel that if it's your fault, just admit it, don't push the blame to others, that's not fair.. and I hate this kind

of attitude.

3. People who are stingy, petty, selfish, inconsiderate, irritating. Who can tolerate them?

4. People who neglect others' feeling.

5. People who have no idea what's teamwork, can't work in a team.

Flu Flu Go Away & Don't Spoit my Xmas!

A bad day. Down with flu out of sudden, without any warning signs... Made me pretty drowsy today, and I really don't feel like working today.. Well, feeling sickly and I'm already into Xmas mood, so...heheh~~ For the whole day, I have been stuffing tissues into my nose, & it's really unbearable. But I got lots of things to write for my lab notebook, so just gotta hang on...

Too tired to write much tonite. Need a sleep badly but gotta pack my stuff for tomorrow's chalet first plus write all the xmas cards...Hope my runny nose clears tomorrow... Merry Xmas to all...

Mixed Feelings....

It has been about a week since I previously posted up my blog. Have been pretty busy for the past week & think it's going to be so for the next 2 weeks. Working, gatherings, tuition, driving lessons and swimming... These are sufficient to fill up my weekly schedule.


Many things happened over the last weekend... Sad, disappointed are the best words to describe how I feel. However, the planning of the Christmas parties at my office & with my friends has been keeping me busy these few days and the parties have brightened up my days a little.. Well, don't wish to go into the details on why I was upset and disappointed...It's just too complex for me to put it down in words... But I'm really happy that I'm blessed with a warm family. Although I'm not born with a golden spoon, and the five of us are still living in a 3-room flat, I feel that I got a cosy home. Really thankful to my parents for that...


Today we had our office Christmas party! It was organised by my colleague and I. Everything turned out pretty well, we had lots of pizzas, drinks...hopeing for some wine...but hey, office hour was yet to be over,therefore we can't...eventually, we had sparkling juice as a substitute...hehe~~
Think everyone was looking forward to the gift exchange segment. I prepared some lots for them to draw. So whoever's nmae they picked, they would pass the present which they've bought to the person... Some of them bought pretty interesting gifts. I've picked a cute and useful humpty-dumpty digital clock and a penguin electric fan for my colleague. Haha...in the end,Glad got my gift...so useful for her...cos she's saying that the lab is getting warmer...the penguin fan gonna come in handy then.. Furthermore, it lights up when the fan is on,so it'll be good when there's a power failure...heheh~~ Well, I got a notebook from aloe vera. Pretty special coz it's a 3-in-1 notebook..But I won't bear to use it...too nice and expensive to use...hehe

I can tread water Now!!

Today has been a pretty relax day. Just got to put up my reaction and leave it running while I clear some paperwork. Well, my boss is now back to his hometown, Switzerland. Not too much task assigned to us...Yeah~~ Guess he wants us to enjoy our festive season too..

I will be having a X'mas party in office on the 22nd. Yeah~~ Did the planning with another colleague the whole afternoon. Goota decide on the food & of course, X'mas logcake! Huh? Cake again? Haha...no worries...we plan to get ice cream log cake instead since everyone already quite sick of the usual cream cake (especially me!) We are also going to have a gift exchange, think there'll be lotz of fun!! Well, with all the feast this month, I'm gonna get fat soon...Sigh... Gotta jog & swim hard now...haha...

Had fun for today's swimming...at last I know how to tread water!! Heheh...actually it is pretty easy, just that it can be quite tiring....Hope I won't get muscle ache tomorrow...

I'm developing Cheesecake HYPERPhobia!!!

Today had a sumptuous meal at Crystal Jade Holland V. Good food indeed, . Well, it was an xmas treat from my boss. He's really a generous boss...

My colleague made a cheesecake for us today.. Cheesecake? Not again? This is the third cheesecake I have for the last 4 days (though I didnt eat the second one which my friends bought me, now I begin to feel disgusted at the sight of cheesecake)!! Guess my stomach, my appetite is shrinking...haha... Ok, since my colleague mad it specially for us, it wouldn't be nice not to show my support for her, rite? So I had a slice though the lunch had already filled me to chest level. The cake was good, but abit too dense...I could feel the block of cheese sinking into my stomach, just the way my other colleague felt... haha~~

I was even too full for dinner... If this sort of binge eating continues, I'll soon turn into a big fat sow...

I'm presently suffering from cake phobia, in the midst of recuperation. Pals, please don't mention the work 'cake' or 'cheesecake' in my presence....I'm really terrified of these terms now.

Dinner Date With Ru & Yu...

Oh, it's Sunday again...tomorrow gotta work again...I'm dead-beaten after the consecutive days of b'dae celebration.

Met up with Ru & Yu at Bishan's Cartel for dinner. Had a good chat & gossip...Haha... Was surprised to receive a photo frame from this bunch of gals... Haiz..so sad, still don't understand me... I HATE IMPRACTICAL STUFF!! PLEASE TAKE NOTE!! Hey please, my house too small for me to display such fragile stuff...next time don't spend money getting me these stuff lar... If no idea of what to get for me, ask me if not don't buy lar... I hate to dump such stuff at home... Feel that i'm letting you guys down if I don't use use but I really don't use photo frames... Give me cash lar...haha...

Well, I'm not a young gal anymore, hope to get more useful things...life's getting more practical for me now...

The Incredibles..

Such a tiring day...coz I got back late last nite yet got to get up so early in the morning for my tuition.

Met my old pal, Ying, in the afternoon to watch The Incredibles. It's a good show, but I still like Finding Nemo more...In fact, this was the very first time that we went out together for a movie though we have already known each other for 15 years! We were classmates from P1 to P4, not exactly very close friends then. It's only this year that she found me in friendster, & we even bumped into each other twice this year... It's really fate...Hehehe~~ I am so surprised that we could talk so much! I was a little worried that we'll run out of topics, but things wok out really well...haha... We had so much fun watching the show, enjoying our popcorn. It was so nice of her to celebrate my birthday for me, though it was a b'lated birthdaty. This year's birthday is a really special one. I've reunited with my old friend, Ying.. Really happy about this... Thanks, Ying, for giving me such an unforgettable b'dae!

Well, she has not changed abit, still so bubbly, sweet, with very nice deep dimples & curly hair. Still remember her nicely pleated hair she used to have in primary school..Well, I often tease her about that...haha..

Went Bugis to shop for xmas presents after that & she got me a hp accessory which has my name engraved on it.. So paisey about it...

Really had a great time today... ;)

I'm now 22!!! Haiz...

Today is a day which I hope won't come too soon, but still, it's here. I'm announced 22 years old. Oh manz, I among the younger ones or sometimes the youngest in my groups, & I always make fun of my friends & colleagues, saying that I'm still young, only 21...Now I feel so old, already 2 years into young adulthood, in 3 years time I'll be into the 'real' stage of adulthood, attached to it are the side effects of aging, saging skin, white hair, lower metabolism, decreased vitality... Oh no....but that's just part & parcel of life...Just gotta take my stride... Anyway, that's gonna be 3 years down the road (I hope.. *crossing my fingers*), so I shall enjoy my 3 more golden years from now...

Back to today, I was delighted to receive so many well-wishes through sms from my family & pals, thanks for remembering my b'dae! I got my 1st present early in the morning...Well, my dear bro got me a watch, not a typical one that I have, a sporty one...Guess what? the watch wasn't working..Haha...I was laughing at how unlucky he was...But I really appreciate it... Thanks didi.. Make sure u get it fixed before delivering it to me again...

Haha...It was really a pleasant surprise when Leona called me up to wish me 'Happy Birthday' and we chatted for quite a while (during office hour...oopz..shhh..). Really nice of her to remember it, well, we have left LTA for around 3 years already, & without fail, she'll send me b'dae greetings every year.. Feel so paisey coz I didn't even know when's hers.

Today has been a busy day working my column again.This time round not a gigantic one, but my compound was giving me trouble. It simply refused to elute from the column. Haiz... so it costed me my lunch hour...sob sob... My colleagues planned to go Holland V for nasi lemak yet I can't join them...It's my b'dae, & I gotta stay in lab alone during lunch...That's seemed pretty sad,rite? Haiz... But anyway, I was too worried over my compound, no appetite to eat then..Yah, I'm a workaholic, I admit to it... However, in the end, my colleagues didn't go Holland V for nasi lemak...hehe~~

After they came back from lunch, I could sense that something was up in their sleeves as they behaved strangely. They kept popping into my lab to ask me whether I'm done with my stuff...Later, Glad came in to inform me that there's an urgent safety meeting to attend & I gotta be there immediately... I know something was amiss..nevertheless, i attended to it. Haha...it's such a surprise! They have bought me a blueberry cheesecake & sung me a b'dae song! I was really touched. Well, really didn't expect these since they've already brought me to Sushi Tei yesterday...Thanks alot, dear colleagues! Ermm...out of politeness, I gotta pass some cake to my boss, it wasn't an easy task to bring cake to him, especially when his office on a different level, not very nice not to offer those who saw the cake...but there's no way for me to hide the cake too...Well, my boss is tall & an ang moh somemore, so I think he can take 2 slices, though I'm like super full with 1 slice, no lunch. Cheesecake is pretty rich.. Haha...my nice boss was afraid of weight gain too...but he enjoyed the cake, just a slice of it, had no idea what to do with the other piece...haha...Then did we realised that he's b'dae was on the 8th dec... So he's a saggitarius too...

Well, I was among the last few to leave the office, no choice...I wanted to leave early too, but just when I was about to go, my boss came to talk to me about some work stuff..

Had dinner with my jc pals at Swensens. Gd food, but felt sinful, seemed to have started feasting since yesterday, & think gonna continue this for the next few days since I'll be out & my boss giving a treat on Mon. Oh no...weight gain!! Clashes with my objective...haha.. Thanks pal for getting me a b'dae ice cream &.... ANOTHER blueberry cheesecake! Again??Haha...luckily just a slice...but i'm really too full & feel too sinful to take it... So I've left it to my big-eater at home to gobble it down on my behalf.. Sorry pals, I'm really too full to take it...

To conclude: A great day, lotz of surprises & well-wishes...Really had a wonderful birthday... BTW, do I stink? Y a bottle of shower gel from body shop huh?

Treat to Sushi Tei

Thurday, at last! Well, since my D&D last Friday, I am already in my holiday, festive mood. Haha~~ Today's lunch was really a pleasant surprise. My colleagues headed for Sushi Tei at Holland V. I was pretty surprised then, coz we would usually settle our lunch at Holland road's hawker. Well, it turned out to be a birthday treat for me,really something that I didn't expect. I mean how did they know it's my birthday?Hmmm... Well, it's my 1st time to Sushi Tei, wow,the food was pretty pricey but it was pretty good. I was free to choose from the menu & I even joked that I wanted the lobster...haha..But my colleagues said that they would only offer me the lobster head,coz the lobster was too expensive. Really appreciate their well-wishes. This is my first b'dae spent at work...haha..

Really fortunate to have such nice colleagues around... Not forgetting my nice boss too..Really feel like laughing at the thought of that my boss looks like a happy witch.. Ya, a happy witch...haha... Well, this is not my comment,but rather my partner's. Haha...coz my boss has a sweet smile, very nice,caring... But I think if he's a witch, he's gonna be a kind and happy witch... But still, I thinks the word 'angel' suits him better... Really think that he's too good to be true.. As a deputy head, he takes care of us as though we are toddlers, teaches us even the most basic stuff and has been so encouraging. His every little act really touches me...Today I was in distress when I thought that I didn't get the compound I expected...Really looked depressed and think he saw that. Was really relieved when he looked through my data and assured me that I 'm on the right path. Felt really really relieved...Haha...Well, I still need quite abit more experience and skills in my data interpretation. Will work hard on that.. Gambadate! Think I'm really fortunate to have him as my boss, he has been so patient and understanding....

Haha...I guess I'm adoring him more and more... Well, my partner even joked that I should consider my boss as a life partner since he's single (from rumours...haha)...we even went on to day-dream that after I got married and get to Switzerland, I will send swiss chocolates over to her...haha... Well, he's really a nice guy...how I wish he's 20 years younger...haha...

Well, I'm in the midst of organising a Christmas gift exchange party in my office..Guess it's gonna be fun. It'll be great if we can have a Christmas tree in our office...hehe~~

Poodles...SOoo Cute!

Shopping at Orchard on weekends makes me feel giddy. U see crowds everywhere, human jams. Sigh... But it was a good day to catch up with Alni & Suzi, well, have not met them for quite some time already. What really made my day was to see four cute little poodles outside Takashimaya. They were really lovely! So cute and photogenic! They'll even pose for passers-by to take pictures of them. Well, they behaved like superstars too! Too bad, I' ve forgotten to bring my camera along...sigh...but at least I got to stroke & touch them. That's sweet enough...hehe~~ But still, I wish I can own a doggie soon...

Kampung Nite @ Raffles Hotel

It was a fantastic nite. Today was the annual dinner & dance for my company. Well, the theme for this year was Kampong Nite - Adopt a Culture. Haha...guess what culture have I adopted? Chinese? Well, cheong sum is definitely a no-no, since i possess neither the figure nor the elegance for that. Malay? Hmm...I could have easily borrowed some malay costumes from my friends but I didn't.Feel that I won't look gd in that.. But basically I don't look good in anything! Well, my colleague said that I dressed like a gypsy...haha...well, amybe somewhere there, a mix of Indian and tribal...haha..

Well, although the food tasted awful, we were having fun with the games and the dance. I even had a glass of red wine...haha...despite the fact that I'll turn red on alcohol...

I was being pushed by my colleagues to play the so-called animals game. Oh my, initially I thought that I got to act out some animals...Well, can u imagine I was dressed in long skirt, trying hard to look demure (tried very hard,still failed...haha) on the nite yet gotta act out animals?? Haha... thank goodness,it wasn't as bad as I thought, thou it wasn't any much better too... We gotta make the noise of the animal when the host flashed the cards.... I was kicked off the stage when he flashed peacock...Well, by the way, does peacock make any noise? I really wonder...haha..

A lucky nite for me, I've won myself a $50 Takashimaya voucher in the lucky draw. Hohoho...can do my B'dae shopping..haha.. Well, didn't expect that,but it was a pleasant surprise. The prize was presented by my boss,oh, the ang moh. I was feeling so embarassed, coz he showed his "European style of hospitality" to the winners...hehe...
The first prize was won by a new staff who just joined the company for 3 days! A really fortunate guy.

It's really a great diiner, taking pictures and dancing away. Hope next year I'll still be able to join their D&D...

Disney Hits

Well, I love Disney songs! It all started since I was in sec sch,where we got to play a number of lovely tunes from Disney movies. Well,can't really explain why I like those pieces so much. Maybe it's because they remind me of they great times I have in sec band, or perhaps the Disney movies usually paint a very nice, warming picture. I was pretty excited when my sister said that she'll be able to borrow the latest Disney movie songs compilation from her colleague. Haiz, to my disappointment, it was an old set - "Disney Forever". The tunes were not that nice...sigh..I have been looking forward to listening the album but now...hmm... Think I'm going to but the latest Disney album..yeah~~

Busy, Hectic, Tiring Week. Enjoying It BUT...

Time flies. I've actually started work for 2.5 weeks already! My so-called honeymoon period was pretty short...haha~~ But that's perfectly fine for me, I hate to rot around in office for too long. Besides, getting started early did help me to settle down at my workplace real fast. Coolz~~ Like it, enjoying my job. Got a good boss & nice colleagues around, guess these contribute alot. I have been working late these days, just too much work to clear and time passed too fast at office...haha~~ Hmm...craving for a swim this week, swimming has became part of my weekly routine since I graduated...haha~~ Used to reach the pool at least twice a week, but since I started work, can hardly do that... That's rather sad...Haiz... Planned to swim on wed & today, even brought all my stuff to work... But, my work schedules seemed to go against me most of the time.. Gotta work late! Haiz...sad, sad....when can I have my simple wish granted?? Hope soon... Let's hope...haha~~

First Day @ Work

Well, today was my first day as a Research Associate. I was pretty excited yesterday nite,almost cannot sleep...hehe..expected that earlier,so I had my schedule packed for yesterday,so that I wouldn't have too time to think about today and hence lessen my nervousness...haha~~ Stupid idea... Today was a rather relaxed day,It started off with a so-called test by the admin person... She asked me to help her take some pics...haha~~Nothing that's job-related...It's for her personal keeping...Really funny...I was warmly welcomed by my colleagues & went for a few rounds of briefings. Met quite a number of nice & interesting people, especially the Europeans, really nice, chatty & bubbly..hehe...Eventually got to do a bit of preparative work in the lab...Wow~~ It has been four months since I last stepped into the lab...Felt great!! I was busy preparing some chemicals for my reactions (hopefuuly will be carried out next week)..hehe~~
